Theses will be originally cataloged according to current cataloging rules and input into the OCLC data base.

An added entry will be assigned for each college and entered in OCLC as 710 20.

This added entry will bring all FAU theses together in the public catalogs by college and degree level.

A local classification number will be assigned as follows:

1. L.C. class letter

2. Number
   1. 001 for Master's theses

   2. 001.3 for Special theses

   3. 001.5 for Doctoral dissertations

3. Author number

4. Date accepted by the University

   e.g. for a Master's thesis for the College of Education in 1975 by a student named Meecham...
