FAU
Libraries Special Collections and Archives Policy |
General Information:
The Special Collections Department is
responsible for keeping individual named collections, as well as rare or fragile
books and other material of special value to students and researchers. These
items are held in a closed stack environment which requires the library user to
request to view them. There can be a delay in retrieving a collection or a book
for a library user, if staff are engaged in other tasks.
These items do not circulate and
the library user must make arrangements to view the material in the Special
Collections Reading Room during office hours.
Special Collections follows the Library’s
copyright policy when duplicating material for a researcher.
The researcher must give full
credit to the S. E. Wimberly Library and Special Collections when citing
material in our collections.
Questions regarding public service policies should be directed to
Dawn Smith, Assistant Director of
Public Services.
