Reference Department Policy Statement on
Non-Affiliated User Services

Non-affiliated users of the Florida Atlantic University Library include community residents, public and private school students, corporate and business personnel, and other professional individuals. Students and faculty from other colleges not included in the affiliate list are also included in this group.

Disabled individuals coming to the Florida Atlantic University Library, whether they are affiliated or non-affiliated, will be given assistance, as stated in the Library's "Policy Statement on Students with Disabilities," provided there is staff available.

Services of the Reference Department will be provided to all users as stated in the "Reference Department Policy Statement" with the understanding that it may be necessary to give priority to affiliated users during busy periods. When priorities must be set, individuals will be asked their affiliation.

The Library is committed to the principles of the federal and state depository programs and will assist users in these areas without regard to affiliation. Use within the building of the Florida Atlantic University Library collections, including Reference and Government Documents, is unrestricted. (This unrestricted use policy does not apply to the special collections that are in the Library.)
