Media Center Equipment and Materials

The Media Center has audiovisual materials and equipment in the following formats; Audiotape, CD, CD-ROM, DVD, DVD-ROM, Laserdisc, and VHS videotape.

FAU Media Center Policy for Lending Audiovisual Materials

1. A current library card is necessary for borrowing material.
2. All items must be returned to the Media Center.
3. One renewal in person with materials is allowed if no one is waiting for an item’s return.
4. Videotapes and Audiotapes must be rewound.
5. Material will be available for loan to FAU/PBCC Students, Faculty, and Staff with the following limits:

FAU Libraries Laptop Computer Loan Program

The S. E. Wimberly Library at Boca Raton has 28 wireless laptop computers. These laptops can be checked out from the Library Media Center (LY 122) for IN-LIBRARY USE ONLY.  You may view the Laptop Computer Loan Agreement at: http://www.library.fau.edu/policies/pubpol/laptop.htm
 

Viewing Facilities

1. The Media Center has a group viewing room, LY 214, that is equipped for DVD, VHS video and Laserdisc viewing. This room also has a PC that is connected to the internet and a data/video projector.  LY 214 seats fifty and reservations must be made at least twenty-four hours in advance by faculty or staff. Preference is given to classes/meetings that need audiovisual support.
    
2. The Media Center also has DVD and VHS video viewing stations on the first floor of the library in LY 123 and on the second floor of the library in LY 215.  Each station is equipped with headphone outputs for four individuals.  Use of the viewing stations is on a first come, first served basis.
