- (NAICS) is replacing the U.S. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) system. NAICS was developed jointly by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico to provide new comparability in statistics about business activity across North America. This site offers conversion tables from SIC to NAICS or NAICS to SIC.

- American Stock Exchange
- This exchange site provides company stock quotes, news releases, share information, links to SEC filings, and much more. The site is dense and not very intuitive. Take a quick site tour to make the most of your visit.
- Bloomberg
- The web counterpart for Bloomberg. News on stocks, bonds, treasuries, world indices, etc. Extensive information available including charts and graphs, company analysis, currency conversion, and worldwide market snapshots. RealAudio download for Bloomberg Television and Radio News.
- NASDAQ
- Provides information on stock quotes, market news and activity, IPOs, investor tools, personal finance, and Exchange traded funds.
- New York Stock Exchange
- The web site is broken down into eight sections: about the NYSE, the trading floor, listed companies, market information, members and institutions, regulation, press room, and international.
- Report Gallery
- The Annual Report Gallery has over 2,200 annual reports listed. Includes some international companies.
- U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
- "The SEC is an independent, nonpartisan, quasi judicial regulatory agency with responsibility for administering the federal securities laws" The EDGAR database provides financial information for publicly-traded companies (10-Ks, etc.). This site also contains information of interest to small business owners.

- CIA World Factbook
- Provides basic information on all the countries in the world: geography, demography, government, economy, communications, transportation, military, and transnational issues.
- Chamber of Commerce International Directory
- Find chambers of commerce from around the world.
- Currency Converter
- Converts from one currency to another with 164 currencies represented. Also allows conversions as far back as 1993.
- Export Institute
- A for-profit institute which gives advice to those wishing to get into the exporting business. This site has many good links, commonly asked questions about export, and offers a free online report on how to Become a Successful Export Agent.
- Foreign Trade Information System
- The Organization of American States' (OAS) site on trade. Provides the "full text of trade agreements between countries of the Western Hemisphere," intellectual property laws and regulations, official and unofficial trade related links, and more.
- International Trade Association
- The U.S. Department of Commerce's ITA site is "dedicated to helping U.S. businesses compete in the global marketplace." It allows searching by regions and countries or by industry. It provides trade statistics and links to assistance centers such as the Trade Information Center, Export Assistance Centers, Trade Compliance Centers, and Import Administration. A goldmine of import/export information!
- Lex Mercatoria
- This site provides text of international agreements and laws such as Maastricht, GATT, and NAFTA. Areas covered include international economic law, international tax and financial regulation, international arbitration courts and tribunals, international trade law, private international commercial law, carriage transport and maritime law, intellectual property, and electronic commerce.
- The Library of Congress Country Studies
- "The Country Studies Series presents a description and analysis of the historical setting and the social, economic, political, and national security systems and institutions of countries throughout the world and examines the interrelationships of those systems and the ways they are shaped by cultural factors."
- Statistical Agencies (International)
- Lists national statistical agencies from around the world. Some of the sites are only in the country's native language.
- Universal Currency Converter
- This site converts from one currency to another. Xe.com does not guarantee the accuracy of the exchange rate but makes a good faith effort to obtain up-to-date information.
- U.S. Customs Service
- The Importing and Exporting section gives information on exporting, rule and regulations, NAFTA, personal or commercial importing procedures, trade statistics, publication and forms, and more. Provides answers to some of the nitty-gritty import/export questions.
- U.S. Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service
- Provides information on countries, commodities, export assistance, news, programs, trade policies, and FAS divisions. Reports include information on import and export data and market conditions. Search by report name or commodity or browse predefined categories. The information pertains to agricultural products for export.
- Virtual International Business and Economic Sources (VIBES)
- Wonderful resource for Country and Regional Studies. This site, maintained by Jeanie Welch at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, is divided into three main sections: comprehensive, regional, and national. Resources include business periodicals and information on industries, banking, finance, and more.
