KATHY HERSH, SCRIPTWRITER
Kathy Hersh has won numerous awards for her work. She has many documentary credits as both producer and writer, including The New Underground Railroad, broadcast in the US on PBS and in six countries, and Fighting Fair: Martin Luther King for Kids, used around the world to teach non-violence. A former ABC News correspondent in Latin America, Hersh brought to this project her passion for historical detail and her love of all forms of folk art. "Being involved in this project was not just a fascinating experience intellectually, I was deeply moved spiritually," says Hersh.
