CARL HERSH, DIRECTOR
Carl Hersh is an Emmy Award-winning videographer and documentary filmmaker who has travelled the world shooting stories for American and European broadcaasters. He trained as a classical musician and studied music and art at Indiana University before embarking on a career in television. He gained an international reputation as a cinematographer covering wars in Central America for the US networks and international newsfilm agencies. As a producer and shooter, Hersh helped launch such diverse television shows as COPS and World Business Review with Caspar Weinberger. "As a filmmaker, it's rare to feel so involved in a project. This opened my eyes to a part of my heritage I was never able to visualize," says Hersh.
