Study Areas

Tables and individual carrels are located throughout the library. The entire Third and Fourth Floors, and First Floor Northeast (in the reference section) are designated as a quiet study area. There is also a smaller quiet study area next to the Reference book collection on the east side of the First Floor.

Group study rooms are available for groups of two or more students on a first come, first served basis. Keys for these rooms can be checked out at the library circulation desk with an Owl card. At least two group members must be present at the time of checkout. The rooms are charged out for 2 hours, renewable once.

Outside of library hours, the first and second floors of the Wimbish Wing are designated as 24-hour student study centers.  There is also an IRM computer lab in the computing Center, Room 42 which is available.

Photocopying
Photocopies can be made at the Toshiba Copy Center located within the library at the far western side of the first floor or at photocopiers located throughout the library, usually near the stairwells and elevators. Full details on Toshiba Copy Services at FAU can be found here.

The library does not provide change or change machines. Please plan accordingly by keeping sufficient funds on your Owl Card.

Textbook policy
The Libraries acquire selected Florida elementary and secondary school textbooks for the Curriculum Collection. Current course textbooks are not acquired routinely. Other textbooks are not acquired unless they are considered as definitive sources in the subject area. Exceptions are considered at the request of an instructor. Textbooks cannot be requested through interlibrary loan either.
