FAU Libraries Recall/Hold Request Form |
The Recall/Hold form can be used when an item that you need is checked out by
another patron. A "hold" will save the book for you when it's returned. A "recall"
goes one step further. A letter is sent to the current borrower
notifying them that another person needs the book and that a new, sooner due date has
been given. Instead of the original due date -which could be up to 6 months- the
borrower has just 2 weeks from the date the recall is placed. If they don't return the book
by the *new* due date, fines begin to accrue. (Please note that only FAU
currently enrolled students, faculty, staff, and visiting researchers may place
recall/holds on items.) To place a Recall or Hold, please provide the information requested below. You will received
a confirmation notice by e-mail once we've placed the Recall or Hold. When the
book is returned, we will send you an email, call you, or send you a letter in the mail and hold the book for 7 days at the Circulation Desk
of the Library where the book is located. Additional forms may be submitted without retyping identical
information such as name and address by selecting and deleting
the book information and providing information about the next
item.
