Learn beginning paper cutting techniques to create your own paper portrait. You'll need a clearly printed photo that will be traced and then cut. You'll love the result!

If your personal financial situation is difficult right now, pay what you can. If you can afford to pay more, we deeply appreciate that. Instructor

Janelle Washington is a self-taught paper cut artist from Virginia. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Fashion Design and afterwards found interest in paper cutting. Her artwork explores history, identity, and beauty in Black culture. Her paper cuts have been exhibited in Oprah's O Magazine, the National Institute for Health, and she has permanent silhouettes in the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. She is also a member of The Guild of American Papercutters.
