MAP JOURNALS: Binding with the Double Needle Stitch
Instructor Val Lucas

Friday afternoon August 23, 2019
1 to 4 PM
Jaffe Book Arts Gallery at FAU Library
Class limit: 12

Val Lucas is coming down for JCBA’s Library Wayzgoose Festival & Makers Marketplace; we just can’t enough of her, and we think you’ll feel the same way. So we’re having her teach a workshop the day before the Wayzgoose. In this bookbinding journal class, you’ll learn how to bind a hard-cover journal using the double needle sewing technique, with old atlas pages for decorative covers. This structure opens completely flat to allow for easy writing or drawing. Plus, there’s a print aspect, too: students will set their name and print a bookplate to attach in their new book. This is a workshop for all levels
