In this intense workshop of serious fun, we will explore unique ways to tell stories and refresh your creativity. Participants cut their designs into Tyvek to create stories that can be displayed or worn. Design compositions and discover paper-cutting skills to make paper dimensional with basic pop-up and paper-sculpture techniques. Adaptation to other materials, such as glass or metal, and digital possibilities of 3D programs and animations are discussed. All levels.

DOROTHY HAMILTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

One seat in this workshop is available to an FAU student for just the cost of materials ($30) thanks to funds raised in memory of Dorothy Hamilton, who loved JCBA’s monthly Real Mail Fridays letter writing socials. To be considered for this seat, you must be a current FAU student and send an email to jcutrone@fau.edu explaining what it would mean to you to have the opportunity to take this workshop. Applications for this opportunity will be accepted through January 28, 2020.

Instructor

Béatrice Coron, is a studio artist who creates papercutting, artist books, digital animations and public art. Latest installations are as diverse as a subway station of glass and metal in Cleveland and a 50’ wall installation at the New York Historical Society.
