America: History and Life
Covers United States and Canadian history from prehistory to the present.
CIAO(Columbia International Affairs online)
The most comprehensive source for theory and research in international affairs. It publishes a wide range of scholarship from 1991 onward that includes working papers from university research institutes, occasional papers series from NGOs, foundation-funded research projects, proceedings from conferences, books, journals and policy briefs.
CQ Public Affairs Collection
Provides in-depth reports on vital issues, statistical and historical analyses, historic documents and primary source materials, as well as a directory of key government, non-profit, and private organizations in each of the major policy areas.
CQ Researcher
CQ Researcher explores a single "hot" issue in the news in depth each week. Topics range from social and teen issues to environment, health, education and science and technology. There are 44 reports produced each year including four expanded reports.
EconLit
Contains citations, with abstracts, to articles from more than 400 economics journals. In addition, subject indexing and abstracts of books and subject indexing of dissertation titles are included.
EIS: Digest of Environmental Impact Statements
Presents the key issues from complex government-released environmental impact statements, converting massive documents into concise, readable abstracts. [Upon connection choose subfiles]
Expanded Academic ASAP Plus
Includes scholarly journals, news magazines and newspaper articles regarding arts and humanities, social sciences and science and technology disciplines.
Florida Documents Index
Identifies publications housed in the Florida Documents Collection at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). Includes public documents distributed by the State Library of Florida. since 1967.
Health and Safety Science Abstracts
Provides a comprehensive survey of recent work relating to public health, safety, and industrial hygiene. [Upon connection choose subfiles] since 1967.
Inter-University Consortium for Social and Political Research
An archive of computer-based research and instructional data for the social sciences administered by the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan.
LexisNexis Academic
Accesses over a billion full text news, magazine, legal, and business articles and reports, including newspapers, magazines and government documents, state and federal laws and regulations, case law, newsletters, company and industry information.
LexisNexis Congressional
Provides the tools for searching the Congressional record, tracking proposed legislation by keyword and sponsor, searching the Federal register, Congressional committee schedules, finding members of Congress, and searching the National journal.
LexisNexis Statistical
Search summaries of U.S. government statistical publications, then link to the full-text of selected publications on LexisNexis Statistical and U.S. government web sites.
National Journal
National Journal is the leading weekly on politics, policy and government, providing authoritative, nonpartisan coverage and analysis of key political and policy developments.
PAIS International
Database chronicling global public policy and social issues. Provides selective subjects and bibliographic access to periodicals, books, hearings, reports, gray literature, government publications, Internet resources, and other publications from 120 countries.
Risk Abstracts
Risk Abstracts encompasses risk arising from industrial, technological, environmental, and other sources, with an emphasis on assessment and management of risk. [Upon connection choose subfiles]
Social Services Abstracts
Provides bibliographic coverage of current research focused on social work, human services, and related areas, including social welfare, social policy, and community development.
Social Sciences Full Text
Subject areas include addiction studies, anthropology, area studies, community health and medical care, corrections, criminal justice, criminology, economics, environmental studies, ethics, family studies, gender studies, geography, gerontology, international relations, law, minority studies, planning and public administration, policy sciences, political science, psychiatry, psychology, public welfare, social work, sociology, and urban studies.
STAT-USA
Provides access to authoritative U.S. business, economic and trade information from the Federal government. The STAT-USA link above is only accessible within the FAU Libraries [Boca, Davie, Jupiter, Tower only]. To access STAT-USA from anywhere (on or off-campus), log into your MyFAU account. After logging into MyFAU, click on the Library tab. The STAT-USA link appears at the bottom of the left column.
TRIS Online (Transportation Information Research Service)
A public-domain, web-based version of the Transportation Research Information Services (TRIS) bibliographic database, a component of the National Transportation Library, designed to enhance transportation research, safety, and operations by sharing knowledge and information.
WestLaw Campus Research
This resource includes access to the complete laws and statutes of the federal government and all 50 states, federal regulations, precedent-setting court decisions, KeyCite, American Law Reports, American Jurisprudence, and current and archived articles from hundreds of leading law reviews and journals.
