The FAU Libraries Reference Department and Information Literacy & Instructional Services (ILIS) provide library services to FAU and the broader community.  Please review the following policies regarding our services. For additional information or questions, please contact the Reference Department.

Collection Development Policy
The Reference Collection: Wimberly Library

The Reference Collections.  The reference collections are non-circulating collections of resources designed to support the basic research and information needs of the University community in all subject fields. Reference resources of all types (including electronic products) are selected in accordance with the criteria established for the selection of library materials.  (Read the full policy.)

ILIS Policies for Affiliated Users

ILIS provides information services through workshops, consultations, library sessions, and tutorials. See their policies for providing services to faculty, students and other affiliated users.  (Read the full policy.)

ILIS Policies for Non-Affiliated Users

Non-affiliated users of the FAU Libraries include community residents, public and private school students, corporate and business personnel, and other professional individuals. Students and faculty from other colleges not included in the affiliate list are also included in this group. (Read the full policy.)

Instruction Studio Policy

The Wimberly Library electronic classroom at Florida Atlantic University is a library instruction space that has 35 computers. In addition, the space is WI-FI ready and has multiple tables for studying at the back of the room. This classroom was designed for library staff to teach classes and other groups how to access the library's proprietary databases and other online resources effectively. (Read the full policy.)

Literature Search & Literature Review Policy

Library faculty in the Reference and Instructional Services Department also may provide specialized support for the University’s research and teaching endeavors by conducting literature searches and/or comprehensive literature reviews for faculty at the Boca Raton campus. (Read the full policy.)
