Basic Searching - Author

You can also search by author's name or author's last name. Let's search the Catalog for a book by Stephen King, author of suspense novels.

Click Author's Name in the search type box.
Type king stephen for your search terms. (See Figure 11)

Make sure you enter names as follows: last name first name or first initial


Examples:
dickens charles

NOT

charles dickens
rowling j k
NOT
j k rowling
bradford barbara taylor
NOT
barbara taylor bradford

The Catalog is not case sensitive, which means that you can use lower-case letters when typing names, places, or things that are normally capitalized.

Our catalog search for books by Stephen King reveals that there are 39 items where King is the author. (See Figure 12 below.)

Scroll down the list to see which entries interest you. When you find one, write down the call number and go to the library stacks to find the book.
