effective searches can be done using subject terms.

Some catalog entries have “purl” addresses so they can be
accessed directly as an electronic resource (Adobe Acrobat Reader

to request the item through Interlibrary Loan.

and legislative branches of government. FirstGov is a
popular government information directory. Many topical reports of interest
are produced by the Congressional Research Service. Additional
reports on foreign policy topics can be found on the web pages of the
State Department

GODORT has produced the useful directory Frequently
Requested Government Information. The Library of Congress
provides access to International Documents with Country
Studies and Portals to the World.

State and Local Government information
is available that include accountability reports from OPPAGA. Use
the Subject Guide to locate the Budget of the United States as
well as statistical information sources like
FEDSTATS and
UNESCO Institute for Statistics.

range of topics. It is possible to limit a search to peer-reviewed

Studies, and Middle East Studies.

CIAO is the Columbia International Affairs Online database
which provides a comprehensive source for theory and research in
international affairs. This source includes journal articles, ebooks, policy
briefs, and working papers.

Country Watch
gives up to date news and information on 192 countries and includes
material on political conditions, human rights, and governmental structures.

ProQuest
Dissertations and Theses
allows full-text access to materials from U.S. institutions dating back
to 1861.
