The
selected sources listed below are useful for finding
information in books and articles about the
interpretation of fiction.
FAU LIBRARIES CATALOG

Searching by subject: Begin with the
"Basic Search" screen and choose "Subjects, All"
from the "Browse Organized Lists" menu. To search
for information about a person, enter their name as a
subject (last name first). To find literary criticism,
search for the author's name as a subject, then look for
the sub-heading "criticism and interpretation."
ELECTRONIC DATABASES
Electronic Databases are available from the FAU Libraries
home page at
http://www.fau.edu/library
by selecting "Research Resources" or "Quick Links" and then
"Indexes/Databases". When accessing the databases
remotely, be sure to select the link for the "EZproxy"
server.

Literature Resource Center - LRC, Scribner, Twayne US,
Twayne English, and Twayne World Authors
Provides access to
articles on biographical information and literary
criticism and interpretation. Includes authors of
fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama, history and
journalism.

Literature Online
(LION)
This is a searchable
electronic collection of over 350,000 works of English
and American poetry, drama and prose and the full text
of 180 literature journals.

MLA International
Bibliography
Includes references
to literary theory and criticism from journal articles,
books, dissertations, proceedings, essay collections and
bibliographies.

Humanities Full Text
Provides articles on literary and social criticism
literature and other subject areas. The full text
coverage of articles found in this electronic resource
begins in January 1995.
Biography Resource Center + The Complete
Marquis Who's Who®
A
comprehensive database of biographical information on
more than one million people from throughout history,
around the world, and across all disciplines and subject
areas.
Essay and General Literature Index
Cites
essays and articles contained in collections of essays
and miscellaneous works. Focuses on the humanities and
social sciences and includes criticism of literary
works, drama and film.
Reference Universe
Provides
access to back-of-the-book indexes, electronic article
titles, reviews and links to subject encyclopedias and
reference works online and in print.
EVALUATING INFORMATION
If you are not using one of the "Electronic Databases"
listed above or other databases via the
FAU Libraries Electronic Collection, you need to
consider some of the following questions when evaluating
information from the Internet:
