WELCOME TO INFORMATION LITERACY AND INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICES (ILIS)

The mission of  the program of Information Literacy and  Instructional Services is  to encourage the development of effective research and information literacy skills in individuals. We define information literacy as the "ability to  recognize when information is needed  and  the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information" (American Library Association, Presidential Committee  on Information Literacy Final Report, 1989). We offer general orientations to the library, course-specific research instruction and workshops. For more information please contact us at lyilis@fau.edu.
