ELECTRONIC DATABASES
Electronic Databases are available from the FAU Libraries home
page at
http://www.fau.edu/library by selecting
"Indexes/Databases" under the heading "Quick Links."
When accessing the databases remotely, be sure to select the
"Off Campus Connect" link for the "EZproxy"

ABI/INFORM Complete
Provides access to multiple ProQuest databases including
ProQuest Newspapers and Archive Complete, which contains
digital images from leading business journals from
1905-1986.

American Memory
This database is a gateway to primary source materials about
the history and culture of the United States.

American Periodical Series (APS) Online
Provides access to articles from over 1,100 periodicals
published between 1740 and 1900. Searches for articles
can be done by keywords or by names of periodicals.

ArchiveGrid
Provides references to historical documents, personal papers
and family histories contained in archival collections
around the world.

Black Studies Center
Contains
information relating to Black Studies in scholarly essays,
historical newspaper articles (from the Chicago Defender,
Daily Defender and New York Amsterdam News) and
recent periodicals.

HarpWeek
Gives electronic access to the articles from Harper's
Weekly for the period covering 1857-1912.

Historical Abstracts
Provides references to articles from journals about the
history of the world from 1450 to the present time, except
for the United States and Canada, since these articles are
indexed in America: History and Life.

Historical New York Times
Contains digital
reproductions of the New York Times from cover to
cover with a PDF quality. Coverage begins with the
first issue of 1851 to three years before the current date.

JSTOR
Provides access to full text articles from more than 500
scholarly journals, including many in history.

LexisNexis Academic
Gives access to full text articles from newspapers
(including regional publications), journal articles and
government documents.

LexisNexis U.S. Serial Set Digital Collection
This database
contains a collection of U.S. government publications
dealing with every aspect of American life from the 19th
century onwards, which includes congressional reports and
documents.

Original Sources
Provides access to original
source documents, critical selections and acclaimed works
from the U.S. and around the world.

Project Muse
This is a collection of full text articles from scholarly
journals in humanities, mathematics and social sciences.
Articles can be located by keyword searching or browsing
contents of journals.

ProQuest Dissertations and Theses
This database is the
authoritative source for information about U.S. doctoral
dissertations and master's theses. Coverage is from
1861 with some full text dissertations from recent years.

Visual History Archive
Florida Atlantic
University serves as a site where users can access
testimonies from the USC Shoah Foundation Institute for
Visual History and Education. This collection contains
nearly 52,000 video testimonies of Holocaust survivors and
other witnesses in 32 languages and from 56 countries.
Archive is only accessible from FAU campuses.

SPECIAL COLLECTIONS & ARCHIVES
The Special Collections & Archives area of
the Wimberly Library on the Boca Raton Campus is a wonderful
resource for finding primary sources. Some of the
primary sources that you will find in these collections
include paintings, letters, maps, photographs, and much
more. For an overview of this area, click on
Special Collections to access a very informative
PowerPoint presentation and to find additional information.
GOVERNMENT RESOURCES
The Library
has a large collection of government documents in paper and
in the electronic format, which can be located by searching
the FAU Libraries Catalog.
Google U.S. Government Search can also be used to locate
documents on the WEB. For additional information and
