HINTS & SHORTCUTS
What is
all about?
When searching in one of the FAU Libraries electronic resources,

provides direct links from a citation in one database to the full text of that article (when available) in another FAU Libraries database.
The direct link may take you to the full text article within an electronic
journal or an electronic book.

will
also link you to the FAU Libraries catalog (WebLUIS) so that
you can check to see if FAU owns the item. If we don't and the
full-text is not available online, you may request it through
Interlibrary Loan (
ILLiad).
Have
an article citation and need to find the "full-text"?
***IMPORTANT: Write down the complete
citation (article title, journal title, year of publication, author of
article, page number(s).*****
-
-
Type in the name
of the JOURNAL (not the article) into the box and click the
"search" button. If the journal title appears alone or in a list, look
for the data ranges next to the journal title.
-
Does
the year of publication of your citation fall within the date ranges?
If so, click the blue database name to browse by journal volume number
for your article.
-
Sometimes you
will be prompted with a search box instead. Type the name of the
article in the box and proceed with your search.
NOTE:
If you have followed the steps above, and the citation's journal volume
is not "full-text online," then check to see if we have the journal in
print.
-
-
Highlight
"Journal/Magazine Title" and type the name of the JOURNAL
(not the article) into the box. Limit your Location to Boca
Raton if you attend the Boca campus.
-
Click the
"Submit Search" button.
-
If you see the
name of the journal in blue, click "Library Has" to see if we have your
specific volume number.
-
If we do, write
down the call number, locate the journal in the Boca campus library,
and make a photocopy of the article.
-
NOTE:
If the article is neither in the library nor full-text online, please
order the article through Interlibrary
Loan.
