Before You Start

Remember that not all of the databases are going to provide full-text articles and that that you may want to search for articles from peer-reviewed, or scholarly journal sources.

Online Databases Selection

Designed specifically for academic institutions, is the world's largest scholarly, multi-disciplinary full text database containing full text for nearly 4,700 publications, including more than 3,600 peer-reviewed publications. This is a good general use database and offers a chance to do a cited reference search. A cited reference search is a search for your article in the citations and bibliographies of other works.

The premier source for peer-reviewed, full-text articles from the world's leading journals and reference sources with extensive coverage of the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature and other subjects. Includes full-text coverage of the New York Times back to 1995.

Content coverage includes the life sciences, environmental, aquatic sciences, social sciences, computer technology and engineering.

Authoritative source for information about U.S. doctoral dissertations and master's theses. This database represents the work of authors from over 1,000 graduate schools and universities.
