Art Index Full Text
Provides access to articles on
topics dealing with graphic design, graphic arts and other
subject areas. Coverage is from 1984 to the present,
with full text articles beginning in 1997.

Art Index Retrospective
This is a good
resource for references to articles in older publications
from 1929 through 1984. Subjects indexed include
graphic design, graphic arts and others.

ARTstor
Contains
8,000 digital images, from the Department of Architecture
and Design of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.

Design & Applied Arts Index (DAAI)
Indexes
articles from design and applied arts publications.
Some of the subject areas covered include graphic design,
architecture, computer aided design, industrial design,
garden design and landscape architecture.

Groveart
This database is a wonderful starting point for gathering
information about the history of graphic design and its
various periods and for finding biographical information
about graphic designers.

JSTOR This
is a collection of full text articles that includes several
journals dealing with art history and design. Articles
can be located by keyword searching or browsing contents of
journals.

NYPL Digital Gallery
Provides access to the NYPL Digital Gallery,
which is New York Public Library's "new image database." The
collection of digital images includes drawings, posters,
photographs and much more.

Web of
Science
This electronic database provides references to articles
from the Arts & Humanities Citation Index, Social Sciences
Citation Index and Science Citation Index. It is a
very unique database, since cited references are provided
along with the references to articles.
EVALUATING INFORMATION
If you are not using one of the "Electronic Databases" listed
above or other databases via the
FAU
Libraries Electronic Collection, you need to consider some of the following
questions when evaluating information from the Internet:
