About the Media Center

The Media Center is located in the S.E.  Wimberly Library Room LY 122, on the Boca Raton Campus.  It houses the University's primary collection of audiovisual materials.  Formats supported by the Media Center include videotape, laserdisc, CD, CD-Rom, DVD and audiotape.

The center's collections and equipment may be used by current Owl Card/library card holders.  Priority is given to students and faculty using the facilities for course-related purposes.  Most materials may be checked out with a valid Owl Card or library card.  You can read more about the Media Center's policies here.  You may contact the Media Center by calling 561-297-3704 or by email at lymedia@fau.edu.

Viewing / Listening Facilities

While DVD's and CD's can be used on the library's PC's, the Media Center has TV/VCR's and DVD's players adjacent to the Toshiba Min-Copy Center.  The center also has a multimedia lab in LY 124 that is equipped for DVD, VHS video and Laserdisc viewing. This room also has two multimedia workstation PC's that have scanners and internet connectivity.  They feature graphic, video and audio editing programs.
