About the Media Center The Media Center is located in the S.E. Wimberly Library Room LY 122, on the Boca Raton Campus. It houses the University's primary collection of audiovisual materials. Formats supported by the Media Center include videotape, laserdisc, CD, CD-Rom, DVD and audiotape.
The center's collections and equipment may be used by currently enrolled FAU, and PBSC South students, faculty and staff. Priority is given to students and faculty using the facilities for course-related purposes. Most materials may be checked out with a valid Owl Card or library card. While DVD's and CD's can be used on the library's PC's, the Media Center has
TV/VCR's and DVD's players adjacent to the Toshiba Min-Copy Center.
The center also has a multimedia lab in LY 124 that is equipped for DVD, VHS
video and Laserdisc viewing. This room also has two multimedia workstation
PC's that have scanners and
internet connectivity. They feature graphic, video and audio editing
programs. (The multimedia lab is currently undergoing renovations.)

All Media Center materials are available to FAU faculty, staff, TA's and GA's for use in courses and other FAU programs. Materials are also available for individual in-library viewings and most titles may be checked out by anyone with a valid Owl Card or library card.Faculty and staff may place reservations by calling the center at 561-297-3704, by using our Reservation Request Form, through campus mail or in person at the Media Center (LY 122). Please request materials at least 24 hours in advance for the Boca Raton campus. Requests from other campuses should be made 72 hours in advance to ensure delivery via the shuttle.
Please use the MacArthur Campus Library's Media Reservation Request Form to place reservations for items held at that campus.

No Loans Returning materials promptly is important to ensure that subsequent scheduled uses are not jeopardized.
Although students may not check out all materials, other options are available:Individual Viewings:
Students may view material for their courses or for course-related research in the library.
Class Presentations:
If a title is needed to show in class presentation, reservations should be made by the course instructor.Student Groups:
Student Groups may use Media Center materials for group meetings or events. The Faculty Advisor for the group must reserve the material which will be held in the Advisor's name only.
