The Interlibrary Loan office makes every effort to fill all requests
made to our office, including requests for textbook materials.
However, textbooks can be difficult to obtain via ILL as
many libraries are unwilling to loan their textbook materials to other
libraries, preferring to keep the textbooks they have purchased for use
by their own students.
Also keep in mind, the length of the loan and whether it
will be renewable is determined by the lending library, not the FAU
Interlibrary Loan Department. It is unlikely that a lending library will
loan an item for a complete semester.
If you do need a textbook for the full term, you many
need to put in a new request. Please keep in mind, we cannot guarantee
that we will be able to find another copy or that it will arrive before
your first loan is due.
If we are unable to find a lender, you will need to buy
or rent a copy from the
or from a third-party vendor.
