CD-ROMs contain GIF images of vegetation greenness themes derived from Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) data for the years 1989-1998, and fire danger themes. The GIF imagers are referenced by an HTML document and thus can be viewed using any standard browser such as MOSAIC or NETSCAPE.

108th Congressional District Summary Files, Census of Population and Housing 2000 ( C.3. 282/4: 108 )

DVD contains the 100-percent data, which is the information compiled from the questions asked of all people and about every housing unit. Population items include sex, age, race Hispanic or Latino, household relationship, and group quarters. Housing items include occupancy status, vacancy status, and tenure. The file contains subject content identical to that shown in summary File 1. As in SF 1, there is a total of 230 population tables and 56 housing tables shown down to the census tract level in 108 CD 100 that are repeated by major race and Hispanic or Latino groups. The 108th Congressional District Summary File (100-percent)(108CD100) is released as individual files for each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. 108CD 100 also contains an inventory of Congressional Districts for the 108th Congress.

1997 Economic Census Report Series( C 3.277: CD-EC 97-1/ )

The Economic Census profiles the US economy every five years, from the national to the local level. Reports are now available for all geographic areas and all sectors. CD-ROM includes complete geographic area data for most sectors. States and industries included in CD-ROM 1c, are shown with yellow or blue background in the availability charts. American Community Survey 1997 (C 3.297:997)

CD-ROM contains economic, demographic, social and housing information from the 1996 and 1997 survey sites. For the first time, some of sites now have more than one year of data for you to compare. This CD checks for the presence of Internet Explorer 4.0 or later, for windows 3.1, the supplied version of Internet Explorer 3.0 is always used.

The Census Bureau has developed the American Community Survey (ACS), a survey that will give you up-to-data economic, demographic, social and housing profiles of America’s communities every year instead of once every 10 years. CD-ROM contains a wealth of data from the survey profiles of social and economic characteristics for each site. Summary tables similar to those from the Census Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS) for research and special purposes. American Indian Area/Alaska Native Area/Hawaiian Home Land (Census 2000)- PDF Map Files, Census of Population and Housing ( C 3.275: AM 3)

The American Indian Area/Alaska Native Area/Hawaiian Home Land Census 2000 Maps in Adobe PDF format, are contained on one DVD and organized by entity: Census 2000 Black Maps- show the boundaries, names, and codes for American Indian Area/ Alaska Native Area/Hawaiian Home Lands, American Indian Area tribal subdivisions, counties, county subdivisions, places, American Indian tribal census tracts or census tract and census blocks. American Indian Tribal Census Tract Outline Maps show the boundaries and numbers of the American Indian tribal census tracts as well as the named features underlying those boundaries for American Indian reservations and off-reservation trust lands. The American Indians and Alaska Natives in the United States Wall Map shows the American Indian and Alaska Native Areas reported or delineated for Census 2000. The minimum requirements to operate DVD are a DVD drive and Version 4.0 or later of Adobe Acrobat Reader. The AutoPlay features of this DVD were designed for Windows, but the map files should also be accessible on any operating system such as Mac, UNIX, and LINUX, which has Acrobat Reader.

Population items include sex, age, race, Hispanic or Latino, household relationship, and group quarters, Housing items include occupancy status, vacancy status, and tenure. These 100-percent data are presented in 36 population tables and 11 housing tables, identified with "PCT" and "HCT", respectively. Each table is iterated for 250 population group: the total population, 132 race groups, 78 American Indian and Alaska Native tribe categories and 39 Hispanic or Latino groups. Summary File 2 is released as individual files for each of the 50 states, the district of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the United States. The tables are identical for all files, but the geographic coverage differs. Because urban and rural will not be available until mid-2002 as part of the final national file, an advance national file will be released in early 2002 the provides all SF 2 data without the urban and rural components.

Various elements such as temperature, dew point, wind speed and direction, sea level pressure, visibility, cloud ceiling, present weather, precipitation, snowfall, snow depth, altimeter setting, station pressure, etc are available. The CD-ROM also contains a data inventory file, sorted by station id and year, where each record contains the number of observations for each month of that year. Presented is a collection of plots of Temperature and Salinity relative frequency distributions and statistics for 5-degree squares at all standard depth levels in the Atlantic Ocean based on World Ocean Database 1998 data. The area is limited to 80 degree N and 30 degree S. CD 1 of the Atlas contains seasonal distributions for the upper (0m-400m) ocean. CD 2 contains annual distributions for the depth from 500m to 5500 m.

Ocean Data and Information Network for AFRICA (C 55.297: OD 3/CD)

The Ocean Climate Laboratory of the U.S. National Oceanographic Data Center has produced this CD-ROM for the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission’s (IOC) Ocean Data and Information Network for Africa. WOCE was one of the principal projects of the World Climate Research Programme. Version 3.0 is the complete WOCE data resource, containing more than 90% of all data collected for the WOCE programme. GASIS, Gas Information System ( E 1.111: G 21 )

GASIS is a national data base of geological, engineering, production, and ultimate recovery data for U.S. oil and gas reservoirs. This database is designed to be used as input for modeling and forecasting, and as a stand-alone database. GASIS has two components: “Reservoir Data System” of geologic and engineering data on Lower-48 reservoirs with significant cumulative gas production, and a “Source Directory” documenting natural gas supply- related databases and information centers. Greater Green River Basin Production Improvement Project ( E 1.111: G 83/2 )

The Greater Green River Basin (GGRB) of Southwestern Wyoming may contain as much as 5000 trillion cubic feet of gas trapped within unconventional, overpressured, very tight, basin-centered gas reservoirs. CD contains the results of a successful multi-year partnership between Union Pacific Resources and the U.S. Department of Energy, National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). The purpose o the project was to reduce the technical risks and the economic uncertainty of industry development of the GGRB low-permeability (tight) gas resource.
