FAU Digital Repository

FAU's digital repository supports open access to scholarly content by providing access to the creative and scholarly works produced by FAU student, faculty, and researchers.

The FAU digital repository:

  • Facilitates the open dissemination of research

  • Brands FAU scholarship to attract new students, researchers and grants to the University

  • Increases citation impact because research is discovered more easily

  • Supports author efforts to retain copyright to their scholarly work

  • Provides web access to multiple file formats: .doc,.pdf,.tiff,.ppt,.csv, xls,.mov,.mp3--from word documents to audio and video files

  • Creates a collective body of knowledge showcasing faculty accomplishments for accreditation purposes and serves to aggregate the intellectual output of FAU

  • Guarantees long-term preservation of content and format migration through remote storage and preservation as part of the State University participation in the Florida Digital Archive (FDA), a dark repository.

The FAU Digital Library mediates the depositis of faculty and student work into the repository, providing keywords and metadata to enhance findability. Works deposited include student research posters, abstracts, presentations, capstones, Honors Theses, Dance and Music performance recitals, faculty papers, preprint publications, conference proceedings, and technical reports.
