WINTER SOLDIER 2008
News item: "US veterans and active-duty soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan testify about the horrors of war" - Headline from Democracy Now! The meeting in Silver Spring, Maryland which ran March 13th to the 16th, 2008 was modeled after the 1971 Winter Soldier hearings held during the Vietnam War. According to Democracy Now!, the 2008 event was practically ignored by American corporate media.
