Borrowing Privileges

FAU Faculty, Students (currently enrolled) and Staff will need to have a valid FAU Owl Card, which serves as the library
    card at the FAU Libraries.
State University System Faculty, Students (currently enrolled) and Staff will need to have a valid University ID from their
     home institution.
FAU alumni will need to show current Alumni Association membership card
Faculty, Students (currently enrolled) and Staff  of the Florida Community College System will need to present a valid
    College ID card from their home institution and proof of contract or enrollment.
Patrons from participating SEFLIN institutions must present a current SEFLIN access card from their home library
     before obtaining an FAU library card.
Friends of FAU Libraries have privileges to most library services as explained in the Categories of Memberships. Please
    consult with Circulation Desk staff or Library Administration, if you have questions.
Patrons participating in Special Programs, Courses and Seminars may be eligible for borrowing privileges when special
    arrangements have been made with the FAU Libraries. Please inquire at the Circulation Desk or the Administrative Office
    on appropriate campus.
 

Responsibility For Library Card Use

Card Holder assumes the responsibility for all items charged to the library card, and must guarantee the safe return of 
      all library materials. If an item is lost, stolen, or damaged, the card holder is responsible for all replacement fees and   
      related costs. A library card may not be loaned to another person.
Lost or stolen library cards should be reported to the Circulation staff. The library card holder has the responsibility to
    prevent use by anyone other than the holder and is responsible for any fines or lost book charges incurred on his/her
    card. Once the loss or theft of the library card is reported to Circulation staff, the library card will be immediately blocked
    against further use.  Please contact the Owl Card center to replace the card.
